Our History

Some years ago, seeing the difficulties that missionaries were facing when needing to move from place to place, the Casqueiro family, in 1980, opened the doors of their residence to accommodate and support missionaries who needed somewhere to stay whilst on journeys to other places either within Mozambique or overseas.

In 1997, Christians from varies nations joined together with the Casqueiros to establish a place where missionaries could enjoy accommodation and meals whilst involved in their ministries.
This place is called Casa Koinónia (which means House of Fellowship) -- ‘an oasis for missionaries’.

The creation of Oasis had the aim expressed in Is. 32:17-18 where it says:

“The work of righteousness shall be peace: and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance for ever. And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.”
